Glass Beadmaking with Shannon Vickers - 390321

Glass beadmaking is fun! This all-levels class will introduce beginners to proper safety, basic constructs like dots, twist-ties, and stringers, and of course beads. Intermediate and advanced students will enjoy the challenge of being introduced to sculpture, silver glass and other complex techniques that will help hone their skills as lampworkers.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies as they are not included in the class fees. Supplies are available for purchase at the Cape Coral Art Center Supply Store located in building 2 open Monday thru Saturday 9:00am thru 4:00pm. Current students receive a 10% discount. Drop-In studio times are offered at a nominal fee for students enrolled in the current class session. Dates, times, and costs are posted in the glass studio after the first week of class in each session.

Supply List:
*Instructor will provide class time to go over supplies and where they are in the store for purchase during the first class.
- Safety Glasses (NB: Instructor will provide glasses on loan for first few classes.)
- 104 COE Glass Rods
- Tweezers (7” or longer)
- Graphite Paddle
- 3/32” x 12” Mandrels (beginner)
- 1/16” x 12” Mandrels (intermediate)
- Bead Release

Optional Supply List:
- Shaping tools (optional)

The Art Center wants you to learn while having fun and staying safe! Please wear closed toed shoes and non-flammable (i.e., cotton) clothing that can
handle wear and keep a pair of safety glasses and a respirator handy.
