Beading with Valerie Jewell - 390431

This class will cover various types of beadwork: stringing, embroidery, and bead weaving (on and off loom).

Supplies for each technique are different, so please wait to speak to your instructor on your first day of class before purchasing materials.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies as they are not included in the class fees. Supplies are available for purchase at the Cape Coral Art Center Supply Store located in building 2 open Monday thru Saturday 9:00am thru 4:00pm. Current students receive a 10% discount. Supply List for Basic Beading:
- Pliers round nose
- Chain nose
- Wire cutters
- Crimp tool for 2mm crimp tube
- Assorted beads
- Beading wire .018 - 49 strand
- #2 crimp tubes
- Beading design board or bead mat
- Head pins
- Eye pins
- Clasp
- Ear wires or post for earrings
- Books, magazines, or pictures of jewelry, for ideas and reference.
- Crimp covers (optional)
- Wire protectors (optional)

Supply List for Bead Embroidery:
- Needles – Beading size 12
- Thread
- Stiff Stuff – Beading Foundation
- Ultra Suede – Non-Woven
- Assorted Beads:
o Seed Beads (size 15, 11, and 8)
o Focal Shaped Beads
o Pearls
o Crystals
o Etc.
- Pictures or design ideas

Supply List for Off the Loom Bead Weaving:
- #12 beading needle (10 or 11 acceptable, or big eye needle)
- Fireline #6, or other beading thread. No monofilament.
- Bead mat
- Bead board
- Sharp scissors
- Beads needed will depend on pattern. The instructor will have some patterns available, or students may bring a pattern for discussion.
