Wheel Throwing with Dawn Ingram
The primary focus of this class is wheel throwing with additional support on hand building enhancements. There will be three new projects demonstrated in each session. Students interested in wheel throwing will receive individual coaching and demonstrations.
Students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies as they are not included in the class fees. Supplies are available for purchase at the Cape Coral Art Center Supply Store located in building 2 open Monday- Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm. Current students receive a 10% discount. Call 239-574-0802 for more information.
Works created outside of the Cape Coral Art Center and/or created with clay or glaze purchased outside of the Cape Coral Art Center are prohibited to be fired in Cape Coral Art Center Kilns. This prevents pieces from being fired at the wrong temperature, destroying kiln shelves, bricks and other students’ artwork.
Drop-In studio times are offered at a nominal fee for students enrolled in the current class session. Dates, times, and costs are posted in the sculpture studio after the first week of class in each session.
Supply List:
- White stoneware with sand (may wait until first day of class to discuss clay options)
- Pottery and Clay Tool set of 8
- Experienced students should bring their own project ideas.
- Old towel
The Art Center wants you to learn while having fun and staying safe! Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required during the Raku firing process. Please keep a pair of safety glasses and respirator handy for use in ceramics programs in case of sanding, Raku firing or spray glazing.
