Wire Working Valerie Jewell - 190461

Students will learn proper use of tools, types of wire, and basic techniques that all wire work projects are built on such as cabochon wrapping, coiling, spirals, and chain mail. Students will learn how to make jewelry by manipulating various wires with pliers, adding stones, beads, and other materials. This class will be project-oriented and will include pendants, earrings, and bracelets.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own supplies as they are not included in the class fees. Supplies are available for purchase at the Cape Coral Art Center Supply Store located in building 2 open Monday thru Saturday 9:00am thru 4:00pm. Current students receive a 10% discount. - Pliers – Round Nose, Chain Nose, Flat Nose
- Cutters – Flush
- Diamond File
- Ruler or Yardstick
- Masking Tape ¼ inch wide
- Jewelry Polishing Cloth
- Permanent Marker - Fine Point
- Beads and wire, as needed, for projects.
- Wire sizes good to have on hand.
- Square wire – 21 gauge
- Half round wire – 21 gauge
- Round wire – 18-gauge, 20-gauge, 22-gauge, and 24-gauge
