Raku & Wheel Throwing with Louis Ford - 390221

An intermediate class created for students advancing in pottery skills. This class includes throwing on the wheel, slab, coil building, glazing, and firing methods. Experienced potters will learn about special glazes and the firing technique of the ancient Japanese art form, Raku. Hand Building Ceramics with Ann Cooper - 390261

Learn the basics of hand-built pottery. Students will use hand building techniques including pinch pots, coil building and slab construction to create unique functional and sculptural pieces. Experimentation with color, texture and pattern is highly encouraged. A variety of surface decoration techniques are introduced in addition to glazing. Experienced ceramic students wishing to pursue independent practice to enhance their skills or add to their body of work are welcome. Raku is not available in this course.

Prerequisite: Glass Fusing Beginner or have previous kiln forming experience.

Advanced Glass Cold Working with Renee Farr - 390342

Cold working is any process that changes glass in its natural or room temperature state. These techniques can include sandblasting, grinding, sanding, drilling, cutting, engraving or polishing the glass. Usually this is done during the preparation or finishing stages of your glass fusing process. The glass needs to be at room temperature to attempt these methods.
